Originally developed by Joseph. H. Pilates, and now popularly known as Pilates, is an exercise method, with focus to improve postural awareness, core strength, control, flexibility,breathing as well as general well being.
Our Studio offers mat Pilates group classes as well as individual sessions.
Pilates is a great way to recover from back and neck pain, an effective exercise regime during and after pregnancy and it also provides relief for those suffering from arthritis as well as general musculoskeletal complaints. Pilates is also an effective exercise regimen for post surgery recovery as well as rehabilitation after a sports injury.
Our classes are unique in way that they are structured by physiotherapists where emphasis is put on functional effectiveness and outcome.
As the class size is small you can be assured of individual attention.
However, it is recommended that you see one of our Physiotherapists before you begin Pilates, as this can help you set realistic goals and target the recovery.
CAN THE CLASSES BE CLAIMED ON HEALTH FUNDS?
YES! Those of you with cover for physiotherapy services are eligible for initial assessment as well as classes rebate. However, you should check with your health fund provider to confirm the rebate amount.
